Clinic Fundraising Efforts and Events

The Fowler Memorial Free Dental Clinic held its first fundraiser June 20, 2009 at the Decatur Lake Golf Course. The event was a means to raise funds for the operation of the clinic. This clinic treats dental emergencies for children ages 3-12 who are referred via school nurses, public health nurses, ER staff and pediatric doctors and nurses.

Nearly 40 golfers, adults and children enjoyed themselves during a 9-hole golf tournament. The Swiss Colony sponsored this event and there were numerous donations contributed by local businesses: such as Pierce Furniture, Prudhon Vision Clinic and Pinnow Pharmacy, Farm & Home, Bank of Brodhead, Stop-N-Go, Fisher’s Do It Best Hardware, Piggly Wiggly, State Farm, Citizen’s Bank, Burtness Chevy, Fowler Stone Oven Pizza, Sugar River Bank, Cardinal Lanes, Finnagins, Brodhead Chevy Pontiac & Buick, Subway, Dollar General, Farmers Merchant Bank, American Family Insurance, Indepenent Register, Computer Know How, Orfordville Lumber, Brodhead Tire, Mobile, and Decatur Golf Course.

There were several prize winners. First place tournament winners were Viane, Mike, Grant and Ben; Second place tournament winners were Vonda, Katie, John and Judy. Mary Schmidt won a weekend get-a-way to Wisconsin Dells.
